DXSteel-specific terms and abbreviations. Standard BC terms ("Posting", "Location", "Lot No.") are not repeated here.

|
Bundle |
A physical grouping of lots moved and labelled as one unit. Created via Create Bundles or the Bundle Create wizard. |
|
Certificate (mill certificate) |
An inspection document confirming the chemical composition and mechanical properties of a steel batch. In DXSteel linked to receipts and forwarded to outbound shipments. |
|
Certificate Link |
The link between an incoming certificate and a specific lot or inbound stock line. The basis for forwarding to the customer. |
|
Certificate Request |
A formal request to the vendor to supply the mill certificate. Can be generated automatically on purchase receipt. |
|
Classification Company |
An external authority (DNV, Lloyd's, Bureau Veritas, β¦) certifying steel inspections. |
|
Conversion |
An import mapping that translates external certificate attributes (e.g. from a vendor Excel) into internal qualities and properties. |
|
Cross-dock bin |
A bin for goods that immediately ship onward without storage. In DXSteel, picking from a cross-dock bin is allowed. |

Cut Spec |
A cutting instruction: how to break down a large steel plate or bar into smaller sales pieces. Linked to sales lines. |

Decoil Spec |
A decoiling instruction: how a coil is unrolled into sheets or strips. Distinguishes remainder (rest coil) from finished products. |
|
Factory |
The steel mill where a lot was produced. Captured on the Item Profile and the Certificate. |
|
Heat Number |
Identifier of the original melt the lot came from. Essential for traceability and certificate linking. |
|
Item Profile |
Master data capturing steel-profile properties (quality, dimensions, weight unit, length range). Linked to items. |
|
Label Code |
The configuration for one specific label type (print template, printer selection, format). |
|
Load bin |
A temporary bin used while loading transport. Picking from this bin is not allowed β only moves into transport. |
|
Lot Correction |
Administrative screen that corrects stock at lot level (weight, length, pieces, location). Key user / admin only. |
|
Lot Merge |
Administrative action that merges two lots. Irreversible. |
|
Lot No. Attribute |
A freely configurable property on a lot (e.g. colour, finish, certificate number). Used by Filter Lot Nos. by Attribute. |

Order Difference |
The gap between ordered and received, or ordered and shipped quantity. DXSteel can process this automatically via Process Sales/Purchase Order Difference. |

Output bin |
A bin for production output. Put-away into this bin is not allowed through the regular put-away flow. |
|
Processing |
The umbrella term for all processing steps in DXSteel (sawing, cutting, decoiling, subcontracting). |
|
Processing bin |
A bin where material waits for a production step. Regular picks from this bin are not allowed. |
|
Quality / Quality Group |
A steel grade (S235JR, S355β¦) and the group it belongs to. Linked to Item Profile. |
|
RFID Label |
A label type with an integrated RFID tag, printed through DXSteel label management. |
|
Saw Cut Spec |
A sawing instruction, similar to Cut Spec but specific to sawing. |
|
Shipping Label |
A transport label with sender, receiver, lot data, and barcode/RFID. Generated from Logistics. |
|
Shopfloor Session |
A production registration session in which an operator logs steps and time. |
|
Steel Unit of Measure |
A unit type (Length / Weight / Pieces) specifically for steel, with conversions between pieces, weight, and length. |
|
Tariff Group |
A grouping of customs tariffs, used for Intrastat and export administration. |
|
Transport Equipment |
A means of transport (truck, trailer, container) onto which transport orders are planned. |
|
Transport Request |
A transport request β input for transport planning, before it becomes a definitive transport order. |
