Welcome to DXSteel

DXSteel is iFacto's Business Central vertical for steel, metal and trading companies. This documentation walks you through what DXSteel adds on top of Business Central โ€” from steel profiles, qualities and lot data to mill certificates, transport planning and processing (sawing, cutting, decoiling).

Who is this documentation for?

  • End users in sales, purchasing, warehouse, or production who use DXSteel daily.

  • Key users who coach colleagues and maintain master data.

  • Implementation consultants rolling out or upgrading DXSteel at a customer.

For general Business Central topics (navigation, search, base setup) please refer to Microsoft Learn. This documentation covers only what DXSteel adds or changes compared to standard BC.

What does DXSteel do?

DXSteel supports companies with:

  • Lot-tracked steel inventory โ€” each bar, plate, or coil has its own quality, dimensions (length, width, weight, thickness), and certificate.

  • Mill certificates and certificate links โ€” automatically links incoming certificates to received inventory and forwards them to outbound shipments.

  • Processing โ€” sawing, cutting, decoiling, and subcontracting with automatic routings, cut/decoil specs, and shopfloor registration.

  • Transport planning โ€” own transport orders with loading, unloading, vehicles, routes, and transport labels.

  • Advanced warehouse management โ€” strict bin rules (load, output, processing, cross-dock), bundle creation, shipping labels, and automatic pick rules.

  • Price history and margins โ€” historical sales and purchase prices per lot/variant, credit limits, and surcharges.
