Processing Setup
The central configuration for all processing flows in DXSteel — sawing, cutting, decoiling, and subcontracting. Each section controls one flow with its own defaults, weight margins, and order policy.
When to configure: during implementation. Revisit when adding a new processing type or when actual production reveals tolerances that need adjustment.
This page has 47 fields. Many tooltips are auto-generated, so the descriptions below combine the field name with knowledge from the operational flow. Confirm with your iFacto consultant or product owner before relying on these descriptions for training.
General
Field |
Description |
|---|---|
Combine Production Orders |
Whether new processing lines may be added to an existing firm-planned production order, and how (by item, by item+routing, etc.). |
Status Production Order |
Default status (Firm Planned / Released / etc.) for production orders created from a processing spec. |
Add to Released Production Orders |
If on, new operations can be added to a production order that is already released. |
Weight Type Processing |
Default weight type to use when processing. |
Default Variable Weight on Processing |
If on, variable-weight handling is enabled by default. |
Create pick on release of production order |
If on, releasing a processing-driven production order triggers automatic pick creation. |
Saw
Field |
Description |
|---|---|
Saw/Cut Specification Nos. |
Number series for saw/cut specifications. |
Combine Saw/Cut-Orders |
Whether saw/cut specifications may be combined into existing firm-planned orders, and how. |
Default Saw Processing |
Default processing code used when a new saw specification is created. |
Weight Type Sawing / Default Variable Weight on Sawing |
Weight defaults specific to sawing. |
Allow different input material |
If on, sawing may consume a material that differs from the originally planned input. |
Minimum Residual Length (mm) |
The minimum residual length that DXSteel still treats as a remainder (rest piece). Anything below this is treated as scrap. |
Display of Angles |
Whether the spec shows material (inner) angles or cut (outer) angles. |
Status Saw-Cut Order |
Default status for production orders generated from a saw-cut specification. |
Open Saw Production Order After Create |
If on, the saw production order opens automatically once created from a spec. |
Cut
Field |
Description |
|---|---|
Cut Specification Nos. |
Number series for cut specifications. |
Combine Cut-orders |
Combination policy for cut specs into existing firm-planned orders. |
Default Cut Processing |
Default processing code used when a new cut specification is created. |
Weight Type Cutting / Default Variable Weight on Cutting |
Weight defaults specific to cutting. |
Check weight cutting |
If on, DXSteel checks the weight difference between consumption and output during cutting. |
Cut weight margin (kgs) |
Tolerance (in kg) for the weight deviation between input and output before DXSteel flags a problem. |
Biggest value is length on restpiece |
If on (default), the larger of length/width becomes the length on a rest piece. If off, the orientation is preserved as defined. |
Allow different input material |
If on, cutting may consume a material that differs from the originally planned input. |
CIN Nos. |
Number series for CIN (Cut Identification Numbers). |
Status Cut Order |
Default status for production orders generated from a cut specification. |
Open Cut Production Order After Create |
If on, the cut production order opens automatically once created from a spec. |
Decoil
Field |
Description |
|---|---|
Decoil Specification Nos. |
Number series for decoil specifications. |
Combine Decoil-Orders |
Combination policy for decoil specs into existing firm-planned orders. |
Default Decoil Processing |
Default processing code used when a new decoil specification is created. |
Weight Type Decoiling / Default Variable Weight on Decoiling |
Weight defaults specific to decoiling. |
Check weight decoiling |
If on, DXSteel checks the weight difference between consumption and output during decoiling. |
Decoil weight margin (kgs) |
Tolerance (in kg) for the weight deviation between input coil and output. |
Allow multiple input pieces on decoil orders |
If on, a decoil production order may consume more than one input coil. |
Split the decoil spec. after registering pick |
If on, DXSteel splits the decoil specification after a pick is registered (so the remaining decoil can continue independently). |
Status Decoil Order |
Default status for production orders generated from a decoil specification. |
Open Decoil Production Order After Create |
If on, the decoil production order opens automatically once created from a spec. |
Subcontracting
Field |
Description |
|---|---|
