Vendor card extensions and templates

DXSteel extends the standard BC Vendor card and template with: subcontractor settings (bin, label), steel-specific defaults (weight type, variable weight, extra length), and minimum-order thresholds.

Subcontractor fields

Field	Purpose
Is Subcontractor	Flags this vendor as an external processor.
Ext. Processing Bin Code	Warehouse bin where material flows for subcontracting.
Print Subcontractor Label	Print packing-slip labels for the subcontractor.

Steel-specific defaults

Field	Purpose
Calculate Extra Length	Auto-add extra length on orders.
Weight Type	Standard / Variable / Per Piece. Default value flows to purchase order lines.
Variable Weight	Default extra-weight percentage.

Minimum-order thresholds

Field	Purpose
Minimum Order Amount	Threshold in currency.
Minimum Order Qty. Pieces / Weight / Length	Per dimension.

Audit fields

Date Time Created — auto on insert.
Last Modified Date Time — auto on each modify.

Vendor Template

The template carries the same extensions. New vendors created via Customer/Vendor Templates inherit the extension fields automatically.

Best practices

Set Weight Type at vendor level when all orders with that vendor follow the same logic. Can be overridden per order line.

Use Shipment Method Code on the vendor for freight-incoterm defaults; this links to automatic costs in the Cost Setup.
