Transport in DXSteel

DXSteel adds a full transport-planning module: from transport request through planning on vehicle and route, to loading, bill of lading, and posting. Profile: dxsteel Warehouse and Manufacturing.

The typical transport workflow

  1. Transport requests arise automatically from released sales or shipment lines, or you create one manually via Compile Transportorder.

  2. Plan — open Transport Planning and assign requests to a Transport Equipment (truck, trailer, container) on a Transport Route.

  3. Create the transport order — from planning click Create Transport Order. DXSteel copies customer, route, equipment, and shipment lines.

  4. Manage sublines — per transport order line you can add multiple sublines for partial loading.

  5. Load — mark which lots get loaded via Select lots to load. DXSteel respects the maximum load quantities per line/subline.

  6. Release — once released you cannot add or modify lines.

  7. Print transport labels via Loaded Labels for Transport.

  8. Post — post the transport order. Sublines are finalised and appear in Posted Transport Orders.

  9. Status update — the automated job Update Transport Request Status keeps transport requests in sync with actual state.

Key screens

  • Transport Orders and Posted Transport Orders

  • Transport Planning — planning board

  • Transport Requests — incoming requests

  • Transport Equipment and Transport Routes

  • Transport Preferences — preferences per customer (route, priority)

  • Transport Prices — tariff management

  • Compile Transportorder — wizard to compose orders quickly

  • Select lots to load and Loaded Labels for Transport

  • Bill of Lading External Processor — bill of lading to external party

Released transport orders are locked: you can no longer add, modify, or delete lines or sublines. Open the order with Reopen if needed (only possible before posting).

The maximum load/unload quantity per line is enforced: "Maximum quantity to load is: %1" or "The maximum quantity that can be unloaded is %1". Split the line if you need more than one vehicle.
