Production and processing in DXSteel

DXSteel supports sawing, cutting, decoiling, and subcontracting with dedicated specs (Cut Spec, Saw Cut Spec, Decoil Spec) and shopfloor registration. Profile: dxsteel Warehouse and Manufacturing.

The typical processing workflow

  1. Sales line with processing — mark the sales line for processing via Cut Sales Lines, Decoil Sales Lines, or Saw Cut.

  2. Create the Cut/Saw/Decoil Spec — DXSteel creates a specification in which you define how the raw material is broken down, including remainders (rest coil).

  3. Generate a production order — DXSteel creates a production order with routing per location (see Routing per Location) and links components and output.

  4. Execute production — operators log time and pieces via Shopfloor Sessions. Production labels are printed via Production Label.

  5. Subcontracting — external processors are managed via Processing Subcontractors and their price lists.

  6. Finish — close via Finish External Processing or Finish Internal Processing. Auto Finish Production Orders can do this in batch.

  7. Cost correction — periodic run of Correct Cost Allocation or Adjust Cost — Item Entries.
