Sales in DXSteel
The DXSteel sales extensions are all about lot- and quality-aware selling of steel: you sell from physically available lots, with the right quality, certificate, and weight/length conversion. Profile: dxsteel Sales or dxsteel Sales and Purchase.
The typical sales workflow
-
Create a quote — open Sales Quotes, add a customer and lines. DXSteel shows available lots, quality, cost history, and margin per line through the factboxes Sales Line Quantity and Customer Sales Info.
-
Select or filter lots — use Filter Lot Nos. by Attribute to choose lots based on free attributes (colour, finish, certificate number).
-
Check price and margin — DXSteel shows the minimum margin per line (Minimum Margins) and historical prices via Sales Price Inquiry.
-
Convert to order — standard BC action. DXSteel carries lot reservations forward.
-
Release — release the order when everything is agreed. The warehouse flow can now start.
-
Ship and invoice — post the shipment (and optionally the invoice) via Post. DXSteel makes sure the lot's weight and length flow exactly into the invoice and shipment lines.
-
Forward certificates — DXSteel links the mill certificates to the shipment. Use Sales Certificates to review or send them to the customer. See Working with DXSteel — Certificates.

Things to watch out for
Released orders: as in standard BC, changes on released orders are restricted. For DXSteel fields (lot links, certificate links) reopen the order first.
Need to split a single line across multiple lots? Use Sales Line Split from the line actions.
