Bill of Lading and external processing
DXSteel supports outsourcing transport handling to external carriers (3PL, freight forwarders). The Bill of Lading number (BOL) and carrier reference live in Transp. Req. Ext. Process. BOL. Per-order comments are surfaced via a dedicated factbox; report selection drives which document layout per carrier is used.
Workflow

Transport order is posted; output goes to an external carrier.

Open Transp. Req. Ext. Process. BOL; fill BOL number and carrier reference.

Optionally: add comments via Transp. Order Comment Sheet.

Via Report Selection - Transport you configure which document layout (PDF / EDI / per carrier) is used.

Documents go to the carrier — manually, via job queue, or via API integration.

With several carriers having their own BOL formats: configure a report selection per carrier. DXSteel then picks the right layout automatically.
