Decoil Specification

The Decoil Spec handles unrolling coiled material into sheets or strips. Special features: multi-coil input (optional), spec splitting after pick registration, and weight variance checks.

Workflow

Flag sales lines via Lines To Decoil.
Open a new decoil spec, pick a Processing master of type Decoil.
Fill the header (location, work center, machine).
On finish: open the Finish Decoil Spec Dialog, select one or more input coils, and enter actual pieces / weight / length produced.
DXSteel posts consumption per selected coil and output to the target item.

Setup-driven rules

Setup field	Effect
Allow multiple input pieces on decoil orders	If on, multiple coils can be consumed per decoil order.
Split the decoil spec. after registering pick	If on, DXSteel automatically splits the spec after pick registration so the remainder runs independently.
Check weight decoiling	Checks the weight difference between consumption and output.
Decoil weight margin (kgs)	Tolerance in kg for weight deviation.
Default Variable Weight on Decoiling	Default for variable-weight handling.

Field reference — finish dialog

Field	Purpose
Input Lot No.	Which coil(s) get unrolled.
Output Pieces / kg / m	Actually produced quantity.
Weight Type	Stock vs. actual weight basis.

Errors

Message	Cause
"Process may not be empty"	No process selected in the finish dialog.
"LotNo. may not be empty"	No input coil specified.
"Process %1 is not used on this specification"	The selected process is not on the spec.
"LotNo %1 is not picked for this specification"	The coil lot has not been picked for this decoil.

Best practices

For coils that are always consumed in one go: leave Allow multiple input pieces on decoil orders off. Simpler pick flow.

Enable Split decoil spec after pick when you actually do partial decoils: one coil processed across multiple finishes. DXSteel tracks the residual weight automatically.
