Finishing production orders and labels

Three pages close the production loop: Finish External Processing, Finish Internal Processing, and Production Labels. Plus the optional auto-finish batch.

Workflow — manual finish

  1. Open Finish Internal Processing (or External for subcontracted work).

  2. Filter by production order or work centre.

  3. Per routing line you see: needed quantity, picked quantity, at subcontractor, remaining.

  4. Fill Finished Qty. with the actual output.

  5. For lot-tracked output: fill the lot number.

  6. Confirm. DXSteel posts the production journal and reduces the remaining quantity.

Workflow — auto-finish (batch)

The Auto Finish Production Orders report closes released production orders automatically per preconfigured rules:

  • Order must be Released.

  • Finished Qty. must meet the configured minimum.

  • No unresolved warnings/errors.

Schedule the report daily in the early morning.

Best practices

Print labels right after finishing the shopfloor session. Physical product without updated label = source of warehouse errors.

Enable Create pick on release of production order in Processing Setup. The warehouse is ready the moment production is released.

A lot-tracked routing line cannot be finished without a lot number. Always fill it before closing.

  • Production Label List.

  • Routing per Location.

  • Production Order Component Subform — consumed components.
